Let’s talk fitness and my blog – ChineseLaundry! Some people are blessed with a great metabolism and look good no matter what. Unfortunately, I’m not one of them. I’m a 40-year-old mother, and a newly converted fitness freak!
My name’s Emily and I’m here to tell you that you can get fit! It doesn’t matter if you are the type of person who eats lots and never puts on weight or the person who cries at the extra inch you put on after eating an extra pack of chips. What utter dismay!
I was always the skinny girl who never put on weight. The envy of all! And then, I got pregnant when I was 39. Since then, my biggest problem area has been my stomach.
Rationally, I understand that my body will be like this post-pregnancy, but it doesn’t mean I like it! I admire women who seem to have it going on despite childbirth. In fact, it is this admiration that has instigated me to look at fitness a whole new way. As a mother of one, and as a latecomer to the motherhood game, I don’t have it all together!
I spent all my time juggling everything until one day I realized that I no longer looked like myself. It began with stretches and a brisk walk, and then slowly I developed a regime.
First thing in the morning a stretch up and down and sideways will just take 5 minutes. I also make sure that I convert basic household chores into a fitness activity to keep my body guessing. You can find all these and more on my journey from flab to fab in my blog.
